Summer
2008
Are
you inquisitive by nature? Thoughtful and love to discuss
things? Are you a "city person"? At Barnard College,
our students are all these things and more. Welcome to our
web site. I always like to begin looking around on our
home page, with "Spotlights" on people. Search
through and learn
about what our faculty, alums and students are doing. We've
tried to provide you with a lot of information — about
academic life at Barnard and
within the Columbia
University community; about life outside of the classroom,
and about how students use New York City's tremendous resources.
Link to Division I sports programs or peruse the course
catalog (requires Acrobat Reader) to get a more detailed
look.
We
hope that you can make it to campus for a
tour with a current student, but also wander through
our virtual tour,
and read our frequently asked
questions. Starting to plan your college visits? A trip
to the New York area won't be complete without a
visit to our campus on Manhattan's Upper West Side!
We offer interviews and information sessions in addition
to tours all summer long.
First
though, add your name to our mailing
list so that we can be sure to
notify you of upcoming on-campus Open Houses, staff who
will be traveling
to visit you at your schools and reminders about application
deadlines. Applications (we use the Common Application)
for Fall 2009 are being sent to students on our mailing
list and will go live on the Common Application website
on July 1st. You may also download
an application for admission, financial aid forms and
all instructions here.
This
summer we will be visiting many programs across the country
and throughout the world, so look
around for us! Even if you can't join us at an event,
know that we are only a click away if you have questions.
On
behalf of the Barnard Admissions Office staff, I look forward
to
helping you discover Barnard College!
