Full-time Barnard Faculty and staff have
accounts on Artemis, a server designed for file sharing within departments.
How much space do I
have on Artemis?
Why do I need an Artemis account?
- You can share files with
colleagues
- This is a place to store files that
are maintained by your student and temporary employees.
- Most importantly, you can keep your
working files on Artemis. The server is backed up every day!
How often will I have to change my
password?
- Passwords must be changed every 6
months. You can not re-use any password from the previous 24 months.
Macintosh users must change their Novell passwords on a Dell computer.
I forgot my password. Who
can help me?
- Call the Help Desk. We will ask MINS
to reset your password and then we will assist you in selecting a new
password.
Password rules
- The password must contain letters,
numbers and a special character (# $ % @ etc.).
- The minimum length for the password is
8 characters.
- The maximum length is 30 characters.
Minimum numeric characters is 1
- Minimum non-alphanumeric characters is
1
- Minimum number of different characters
is 3
- Passwords must be changed every 6
months
Artemis / Diana folders seen by most users
- personal folder
- one for each permanent staff member
- department shared staff folder
- shared by all permanent staff
members in that department
- department can grant access to
selected members of other departments
- department shared student folder
- seen by student employees in that
department
- seen by temporary employees in that
department
- seen by permanent staff in that
department
- Document Services drive on another
server "Diana"
- this is where you deposit print
jobs
- Public on Artemis - used by the Novell
System
