User reports inability to access eBear:
In all cases, verify this yourself. Have user try to log in and see what error message appears.
Access to eBear is controlled by the information in the employee or student Datatel record. The user should contact the appropriate office to verify that the information is correct. Common problems include: user was a student and now is a staff member, the Social Security Number is missing in the online record.
Faculty accounts are authorized by the Office of the Provost. Refer the user to Gwen Williams.
Staff accounts are authorized by the Human Resources Department.
Refer Barnard students to the Registrar.
If the appropriate office confirms to the user that the Datatel record is correct and complete, report this problem to eBear@barnard.edu, not sysadmin. You must indicate which error message is seen:
User needs access to additional features in eBear:
Access to Budget reports is authorized by the Business Office. The Department Head should contact Eileen DiBenedetto to arrange this.
Ability to post messages in eBear. Department Chair should send email to Help explaining the details.
Access
requests from people who are not Barnard students or employees should be
referred to Mary Ellen Tucker. Please include information about why access is needed and which Barnard department is sponsoring this person.
