Faculty Computing Accounts

All faculty accounts are authorized by the Office of the Provost.

Each Barnard faculty member receives an account on our "BC" server. This account provides:

Instructors use the same user name and password to log into webmail and eBear.   If you have a problem logging into eBear, see http://www.barnard.columbia.edu/at/eBearPage.htm

Full-time Barnard Faculty also have accounts on Artemis, a server designed for file sharing within a department.  You have an individual account on this server with 150MB of storage space where you can save copies of your scholarly writings, course materials, correspondence, etc.  A department-wide folder is also available to allow you to share files with colleagues. Both folders are backed up daily

Barnard computing accounts are terminated when you leave the College.  They remain active while you are on leave.

Columbia accounts for Barnard Faculty

All Barnard full-time faculty have Columbia instructor accounts. This account  provides "authorization" to use most on-line resources available on the Barnard/Columbia Library System.  In addition, this account (called a UNI) authorizes access into CourseWorks, the online course management system.   Barnard Faculty must activate their UNI accounts online at: http://uni.columbia.edu/ .

Email from Columbia can be set to forward to your Barnard account at the "Manage My UNI" page.
