How to
Reserve a Classroom

                               


 To see if a classroom is available at a certain date and time:

Go to  Virtual EMS at http://ems.barnard.columbia.edu:2010/vemspro/  
(This is also available in eBear as "Room Schedule" on the Community tab).

To use filter, follow this sample:
click on "filter" (on right side at top of screen), select Building = Altschul Hall, select Room = Hughes Computer Lab (not listed as 401)
click on "Apply filter"
click on the tab "Monthly Calendar"

To reserve a room:
All requests for space reservations should be directed to Special Events, telephone x4-7005,  e-mail spaceres@barnard.edu. 

Notes:
1) Classroom space on weekends and special event space is reserved through Special Events 12 months a year. 
2) However, during the first two weeks of each semester classroom space is reserved through the Registrar's Office.
3) After classroom reservations are completed, Special Events handles all space reservations except:

  • the Sloate Room, third floor Lehman, is booked through Media Services.
  • 22 Lehman and 201 Lehman are booked through  Academic Technologies.  Multiple session reservations for 201 are scheduled by the Library.  Send an email with details to mtucker.
  • the Hughes Computer Lab (401 Altschul) is booked through  Academic Technologies.  This room may be reserved by students for special academic projects.
  • The Elliott Parlor is booked through the Elliot Front Desk. Events in there are not entered into EMS.
  • Conference room in Elliott is controlled by Communications and General Council.

4) The Registrar handles reservations for all classrooms (including 22 Lehman, 201 Lehman and 401 Altschul) during Reading Periods and Final Examinations.
