For access to Artemis via the web, go to http://diana.barnard.edu/netstorage
You will see "Unable to verify the identity of diana.banard.columbia.edu as a trusted site"
Select "OK Accept this site permanently"
This brings you to a login page for your Artemis account
In the NetStorage Window
Select the folder you need
Select your file
put a check mark next to the file name
select FILE / DOWNLOAD AND LOCK
Notes but possibly not true
this will prevent a colleague from saving a different version of the file until you are finished
you are required to disable the pop-up blocker for the site diana.barnard.edu
You will see:
a pop-up window "Editing File". Keep this window open while you work on the file on your desktop. Later, use this window to save the new version of the file back on Artemis.
a pop-up window asking you to identify the program needed to open the file you have downloaded. Choose the correct program and click OK.
When you have finished editing the file, save it to a convenient location (Perhaps a folder on your desktop named "Artemis temp files"). Close the file.
Return to the "Editing File" pop-up window. Browse to the file you have just saved and closed. Select the file and click on "Finish".
Use Windows Explorer to see that the edited file is in the correct location on Artemis with the correct file name.
Remember to log out of NetStorage via the door icon
So this is what happed for MET
I opened LCC Snapshot via NetStorage using Download and lock
Next, I opened the same file with my Novell client
Changed both
The Novell client version was saved under the original file name
The NetStorage version was save with new name - adding " -1 " to the original name.
