Manager of Student Computing

• Under the direction of the Director of Academic Technologies, the Manager of Student Computing Services coordinates the Residential Computing Program for the Barnard community including hiring, training and supervising 20 Academic Computing Experts (ACEs),  serving as an advocate for the computer and other technology needs of students and  interacting with students, faculty, staff and parents regarding student computing.   

• Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Demonstrated  managerial, supervisory, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively with beginning to advanced users and a diverse student and staff community

  • 1-2 years of experience in user support

  • Familiarity with multiple hardware and operating system configurations

  • Competency in wide range of PC and Macintosh applications

  • Ability to learn computer hardware, software and system applications quickly and interpret documentation from manuals

  • Knowledge of networking, the Internet and higher education experience highly desirable.
