HelpTrac  Communications preferences --  make sure they are set, as sometimes these settings get erased.  This will ensure that whenever you open or close a ticket for a user that the user will receive an email message with the appropriate information pertaining to their ticket.

• File--> Preferences-->Communications
• Put a check mark in "Use EmailInterface
• Use these settings
  • SMTP (Sending) Server address: smtp.barnard.edu
  • Server Port: 25
  • Author Information Name:  Help
  • Author Information Email Address: Help@barnard.edu

Nothing else needs to be completed since this is only used to send out email notifications and not receive email.
