Important news! MINS has set up a new server named Artemis to replace the old server named Athena. Over the next 8 months, the Novell accounts for all permanent staff members will be moved from Athena to Artemis.  See the Overview Power Point Presentation prepared by Andrew Blaner.

Why are we doing this?

• Athena is aging.  This server is several years old and due for replacement.
• The new server, Artemis, is more secure since it is behind the MINS firewall. 
• Storage space and back-up.  
  • Because you will have much more space on this server, you can store your files on Artemis rather than your local hard drive.  
  • User accounts (G drive) now have 150MB of storage capacity. Departmental shared folders (H drive) are 1GB in size.
  • The Artemis files are backed up daily.
