Software

• OS including version *

• Firewall  

Static IP assigned to server

Hostname registered in the DNS (ex: "maple.barnard.edu", where maple is the name of the server)

The College inventory will promote communication about:

• best practices for Computer Security

• guidelines about Data Privacy

• collaboration between administrators of similar servers on troubleshooting hardware and software issues 

• notification of security breaches on campus

• announcements of upgrades available

* = Fields needed to register a new server with the Help Desk to obtain a static IP.
