New tools require training for all users
MINS has provided a new web interface for the WEB server which replaces WinSCP and Putty
https://web.barnard.columbia.edu:20000SharePoint replaces Front Page. This program encourages a production environment where
- Ed Tech (or Communications) provides a framework for a web site
- departmental assistants edit content in designated frames
New template being developed by Communications. (Release delayed.)
Old template continues. Training needed for administrators.

Increased interaction with the Provost’s Office
Staff from Provost's Office joins web planning meetings with departments. Acts as liaison with academic departments to facilitate referrals to AT.

Guide faculty toward creating useful websites that are sustainable
Online guide for academic departments detailing key components and navigation standards including links to the Online Catalog and CourseWorks
Staff of Provost's Office and AT meet every two weeks to:
- review progress, new requests for website redesign or update
- schedule training related to academic web sites
- update Provost Office on potential links from department web site to content inside CourseWorks: syllabi, assignments. See Guest access to CW.
- plan expansion staff training to support related services: online course evaluations, improved PDF production
- meet with other web staff: Communications, MINS
- planning for requested additions to web site: podcasts, blogs, wikis
