Wireless vs. Wired

Pro	reliable secure	provide network service in "under-jacked" rooms flexibility for users in the dorm rooms (jacks often in "wrong" location) can not install additional CAT3 jacks in the Quad
Con	jacks break high cost install full building at a time	signal degradation from high use security student laptops may not be wireless (this would change by time project starts)

Proposal #1

install wireless on Brooks 6 and 7
- try small area to see how effective wireless will be in old building
- this wing has rooms where 3 students are assigned to previous double (?)
- area includes BR - LR - BR combos where jacks are not in BR area (?)
upgrade corresponding labs (SUlz and Brooks) to high speed
we can stagger the installation over three years (?)
