This page provides troubleshooting tips for Barnard instructors who want to enter grades in the Barnard eBear system.
1) Please see the information from the Barnard Registrar at http://www.barnard.edu/registrar/INSTINST.HTM
2) Test your Barnard user name and password by logging into Barnard webmail. http://webmail.barnard.edu/
Your user name is the first 8 characters of your Barnard e-mail account name (without @barnard.edu)
Your
password was given to you in a letter from the Provost's Office when you
were hired.
You probably changed it to something easier to remember.
If you do not know your Barnard email password, see #4 below.
3) If you know your Barnard user name and password, try to log into eBear. Remember, you type the same user name and password to log into eBear and webmail. If you encounter a problem:
be sure you have disabled pop up blockers in your browser.
try a different browser: FireFox, Internet Explorer.
try a different computer.
write back to help@barnard.edu and tell us the error message you see.
4) If you have forgotten your password:
We do not know your password.
For security reasons, we can not reset your email / eBear password unless you appear in person at the Help Desk in the Lehman Computer Center (first floor of the Barnard Library) with your Barnard photo ID.
You should send an email to the Barnard Registrar who will be able to advise you about submitting the grades for your course. See http://www.barnard.columbia.edu/registrar/
Do not send student grades to the Help Desk.
