CourseWorks Info
CourseWorks is the university-wide Course Management System for faculty and students. It is a web-based publishing environment that allows you to quickly post course materials. It does not require any programming skills. For students, CourseWorks serves as a single point of entry for all of their course information and content.
Faculty use CourseWorks to:
- publish course information and content (syllabi, assignments, readings, etc.)
- communicate with students via class-wide or individual email messages
- maintain digital assets (text, slides, video and audio)
- deliver and receive files
- manage group projects
- maintain an archive of past courses
The Educational Technology team is available to:
- provide an introduction to CourseWorks
- explain the advanced features including Discussion Boards and Course Evaluation
- troubleshoot any problems encountered
- consult about the best tools available for your particular need
When you log into CourseWorks, you will see a list of the courses you are teaching this semester. If your courses are not listed, check with your department administrator or chair first; if they listed you as the instructor to the Registrar and it has not appeared within 48 hrs, please contact us at courseworks@barnard.edu.
Barnard students who have filed their programs are already listed in the appropriate class rosters. New students (and returning students who have updated their programs) will be added to the class rosters after Barnard's program filing period closes.
For CourseWorks training/demo/problems, contact Educational Technology at courseworks@barnard.edu, or contact the Help Desk.
