WinSCP is a secure FTP program developed by Martin Prikryl and is available for free. If WinSCP is not already installed on your computer, you can download it from http://www.columbia.edu/acis/software/winscp/ where you will need your UNI (What's a UNI?), you can also download it without your UNI from http://winscp.net/.

To configure WinSCP to connect to your Barnard account, Start the program
In the WinSCP login window click New

Under Host name type...
bc.barnard.edu if you are a staff or faculty member
and
eclipse.barnard.edu if you are a student.
Click Save, to save your settings so that you can login quickly next time.

When you click save, the "Save Session as" window opens. By default it will pick up the name of the host you entered, but you can type in a different name if you like. Click OK.

You will be taken back to the WinSCP Login window where your new saved session will be listed. Select your session and click Load.

Type in your username and password and Login.

Your File transfer window opens with the server side on the right and your local computer on the left. Use the up arrow to move up to the folder above in the structure or double click on a folder to open it. You can drag files/folders to and from either side to transfer them or select the files/folders and use the blue arrow to move them back and forth.
