Web Publishing
Having a useful and attractive department, research lab, or personal
website is important for colleagues, students, and prospective
applicants. The Educational Technology team provides Web Publishing
training and assistance to academic department faculty and staff. Contact the Help Desk at

CourseWorksThe Educational Technology team provides CourseWorks training and
assistance. CourseWorks orientations are
scheduled throughout the semester. For upcoming CourseWorks
and other educational technologies go to

If you
cannot attend a scheduled session, contact

Desk-Side Session on any CourseWorks topic from
a basic orientation to advanced
topics, send email to
courseworks@barnard.edu for more information or an appointment.
The Educational Technology team can demonstrate, discuss, and/or
research other tools as well that could be useful in teaching your
course.
Desktop Applications
Element K = Anytime Training.
Barnard College subscribes to Element K, an
award-winning IT service that provides online tutorials on computer
applications. Interactive tutorials are available for Microsoft
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Windows XP, HTML, CSS, Acrobat,
Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and more. For access, just send your request
to the Help Desk at

Books24x7. Online full-text of
hundreds of books covering desktop applications, the Web,
programming languages, and many other IT topics; part of Columbia
E-Book Collections. Use it to learn or review procedures and best
practices for word processing, spreadsheets, html, etc. Go to

Desk-Side Sessions. If you are stuck on a particular task in Word or
Excel, an email or phone consult or a Desk-Side Session may be what you need. Contact the Help Desk at

Special Sessions . Special presentations and hands-on training
sessions can be arranged on a department-wide basis. Please contact
the Help Desk for information on arranging sessions for your
department.
