Student Initiatives
Eco Reps
Barnard Eco-Reps are a student group dedicated to increasing environmental awareness on campus, connecting students, administrators, and faculty in an effort to reduce Barnard’s negative environmental impacts. They are peer educators who teach waste reduction and energy efficient behaviors to students in the residence halls. The Eco-Reps and Residential Life sponsor a Give + Go Green Program at the end of the academic year to collect items from students during move-out to donate and recycle. (Last year, in 2008, 12,000 plastic bags were recycled!) To learn more visit the Eco Reps website.Student Clubs
For environmentally minded clubs visit the Earth Institute's student club list as well as the Eco Rep's list of campus resources.
