The Intercollegiate
Partnership (ICP), a collaboration between Barnard College and LaGuardia
Community College of the City University of New York, seeks to facilitate
the transfer of community college students to four-year colleges. Unlike
other bridge programs between two-year and four-year colleges, the ICP
focuses on students interested in the natural sciences. Each annual cycle
of the ICP includes three phases: a residential summer
program; the potential to enroll
in classes at Barnard during the following academic
year; and a final summer
research experience. The HSPP supports all direct expenses
of the program, and Barnard College provides numerous in-kind services.
