The HSPP funds summer classes in Chemistry and Mathematics for students enrolled in Barnard's Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), a support program for selected incoming students. The program provides instruction in aademic disciplines, such as science and math, in which women and minority students have been historically under-represented. The HEOP program is funded primarily by a grant from the New York State Department of Education and Barnard College sources.

The HSPP has supported Chemistry and Mathematics instruction in the HEOP program since 1996. Several years ago, the instructors revised their summer curricula and introduced some technological innovations into these courses. Please follow the links below to learn more about these efforts.
