Searching CLIO
 
CLIO (Columbia Libraries Information Online) is the on-line catalog for over 90% of the materials (print, electronic, audio, video, etc.) in the Columbia University Libraries.  
  • For keyword searches, AND is automatically inserted between term. You may also use OR or NOT between the terms, or quotes for a phrase.
  • For an author search, put last name, then first name
  • You can retrieve materials in English only using the Pre-set Limits or Post Limits options

  • Academic Search Premier -- provides full text for nearly 4,700 publications, including full text for more than 3,600 peer-reviewed journals.

  • ATLA Religion Database + ATLAS -- citations, abstracts, and some full-text articles from religion journals and essay collections.

  • Humanities Full Text -- brings full text (starting 1995) plus abstracts and bibliographic indexes (starting 1984) of noted scholarly sources in the humanities, as well as lesser known specialized magazines.

  • The Index of Articles on Jewish Studies : Reshimat ma'amarim be-mada'e ha-Yahadut -- bibliography of scholarly articles in the various fields of Jewish studies and in the study of Eretz Israel.

  • Index to Jewish Periodicals -- English-language articles, book reviews, and feature stories in more than 160 journals devoted to Jewish affairs.

  • JSTOR -- full-text articles from scholarly journals.

  • Old Testament Abstracts -- Includes indexing and abstracts for journal articles, monographs, multi-author works, and software related to Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) studies.

  • Project Muse -- full-text articles from more than 100 scholarly journals in history and the humanities, the social sciences, and the sciences

  • ProQuest -- full-text, citations, and abstracts from periodicals in many disciplines plus major U.S. newspapers.

  • Religious and Theological Abstracts -- Provides objective summaries of articles appearing in scholarly journals in the fields of Religion and Theology.
