Subject: McIntosh Plaza Deck Project - Closing of 119th Street and Broadway gate

Facilities Services is about to start the final phase of the Altschul McIntosh Plaza Deck project. There are two aspects to the work, repairs to the plaza deck and completion of the walkway at 119th Street and Broadway.

Replacement or resetting of select pavers on the deck will be done over the next two week period. As this work will involve spot repairs, there will be no impact on access through the plaza.

The walkway area will involve a complete replacement of the existing pavers, so they will match the west walkway by the Claremont link doors. In order to do this work, it will be necessary to close the 119th Street and Broadway entrance gate and the lower level entrance into McIntosh. The entrances will be closed from Saturday, December 2, 2000 through Monday, December 11, 2000. Please use the main Barnard gate at 117th Street and Broadway during this period.
