Re: Fourth Annual Celebrate Morningside Park, Our Common Ground Festival

When: Saturday, September 16, 11 a.m. to 4. p.m.

The Morningside Area Alliance of New York City has invited the Barnard community to participate in the Common Ground Festival celebration sponsored by the Friends of Morningside Park. Over the past four years the event has been a collaboration of institutions, churches, tenant groups and residents who offer their support in the continued revitalization of the area. The Morningside Area Alliance has played a key role in the evolution of the event, and each year there is something new to celebrate. This year there are new plantings and landscaping that reflect the hard and loving work of the park's own horticulturist.

Please come to the event, and bring your friends and neighbors. For the arriving students of Class 2004, this is an excellent opportunity to become acquainted with your new community. The wide range of activities include: a celebrity awards ceremony, live entertainment, recreational games, children's activities, community health fair and screening, American Museum of Natural History mobile, sports mobile, information booths, refreshments, local vendors, and more...
