Re: New Hewitt Entrance
Date: Friday, September 22, 2000

Over this summer, we have renovated the first floor of Hewitt Hall into a student services center. Student dorm rooms were converted into offices for HEOP (room 111), Office of Disablility Services (room 105) and the Pre-College Program (room 112). These departments join the following other programs also located on the first floor of Hewitt: Well-Woman Center(room 109),Alcohol and Substance Awareness Program(room 108) and the Rape Crisis Center(rooms 100,106).

In conjunction with this project, we are closing the main Quad entrance at Brooks Hall. The entrance at Hewitt Hall will be reopened for all residents and visitors to Brooks, Reid and Hewitt and will provide for direct access to the Hewitt North and South dining rooms at the lower level and the Clay Collective at the first floor mezzanine level. This new entrance has been made ADA compliant by eliminating the entrance steps; new entrance doors and main reception desk will be installed later in the semester.

The CLOSING OF BROOKS ENTRANCE and the OPENING OF HEWITT ENTRANCE is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 22,2000.
