Join
journalist Lori Robinson as she discusses her book: "I
Will Survive: The African-American Guide to Healing from Sexual
Assault and Abuse", a celebration of healing and empowerment.
Robinson will discuss the ways survivors can experience emotional,
physical, sexual, and spiritual healing. She will also explore
why black women are more likely to experience sexual crimesan
insightful discussion framed in the context of the American
slave system and modern institutionalized racism.
About Lori Robinson
Lori S. Robinson, a rape survivor, is a freelance journalist
whose work has appeared in the Washington Post, The Crisis,
Essence and The Source, among other publications. A former
editor at Emerge: Black America's News Magazine, her honors
include National Association of Black Journalists awards,
Unity Award in Media prizes, and the International Black Women's
Congress Inspirational Award.
