Barnard Sophomore to Compete in NCAA Swimming
& Diving Championships March 17
NEW
YORK, N.Y. -- Lucy Eccleston, a Barnard sophomore
from Stockton, California, will compete in the
200-meter butterfly competition at the NCAA Division
I Championships on March 17.
She
becomes the third woman in the history of the
Women's Swimming and Diving team of the Columbia
University/Barnard College Athletic Consortium
to reach the NCAA championships.
On
March 2, the Columbia Spectator named her Athlete
of the Week. In the profile, Coach Diana Caskey
said "her commitment is the hallmark of her success."
Eccleston,
who linked her own success to that of the team,
was quoted as saying, "I love going through the
process of training and seeing it pay off."
