Barnard Store Open for Business in New Location
NEW
YORK, N.Y. - Following an opening celebration
on March 21, the Barnard Store is open for business
in its new locationon the ground floor of Sulzberger
Hall with an expanded stock of Barnardiana.
To
the accompaniment of a jazz band, dozens of students,
faculty and staff stood in line Wednesday to buy
armfuls of T-shirts, Barnard bears, Barnard pins
and lanyards on sale. The event, which included
a welcome by Dean of the College Dorothy Denburg,
also marked the re-opening of the adjacent Quad
Lounge.
"This was a terrific success - everyone was very
happy with it," said Elayne Garrett, senior associate
director in the Office of Career Development,
who advises the store managers.
Manager
Ravina Sandhu, BC '01, in cooperation with the
Office of Residential Life, College Activities
Office, and Office of Career Development, said
the event was designed to thank those who helped
make the new location of the store a reality.
Manager-in-training Jaime Wesker, BC '04 said:
"The Barnard Store is here for everyone involved
with the College. With this new location, we have
been able to create a permanent source of pride
for Barnard."
The
Store is carrying new items, including books by
both Barnard faculty and alumnae, as well as business
card holders, portfolios, silver keychains, and
Barnard College wallets. Traditional items, such
as the Barnard Tee, classic crew sweatshirt, and
Barnard teddy bears, are available, as always.
