ONLINE ELECTIONS ATTRACT RECORD NUMBER OF STUDENT
GOVERNMENT VOTES
New
York, N.Y., April 22, 2002—A record number
of 609 students voted in last week’s Student
Government Association (SGA) elections, which
were held online for the first time. Through
eBear, Barnard’s new interactive hub launched
on April 1, students were able to log onto the
website and vote electronically for the candidate
of their choice.
According to Jack Chen, the Director of Administrative
Computing Services, "eBear provides a single,
convenient access point to many web-based services.
It also has many other features which enhance
interaction within the Barnard community."
