designed for students interested in the academic and technical
aspects of dance. This summers courses are Intermediate

Barnards Dance Department has been an accredited institutional
member of the National Association of Schools of Dance since
1982 and offers a program based on the integration of dance
as an art form within a liberal arts curriculum. The faculty
is composed of artists and scholars, which encourages a
dual approach to the art of dance. It is the departments
belief that future artists and dance scholars should understand
the language, composition, history, and criticism of the
art form.
