Barnard College presents "Women on the Web," a networking reception and panel discussion with alumnae in new media

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Barnard College presents Women on the Web, a networking reception and panel discussion with Barnard alumnae working in the world of new media, on Thursday, Oct. 19, in the James Room of Barnard Hall.

The evening will begin with a networking reception at 6 p.m., and followed by a panel discussion at 7 p.m. The event is free, and is sponsored by the Office of Development and Alumnae Affairs.

"We've designed this especially with the hope of inviting women 'in the space' to meet with women who are there or want to get there," said Ellen Schwartzman, associate director in the Office of Development and Alumnae Affairs.

  • Stacy Cowley '02, Managing Editor, Silicon Alley Daily (a publication of the Silicon Alley Reporter)
  • Cynthia J. Hollen'86, Founder, Knowledge Strategies, Inc.
  • Catherine Winchester '84, President and CEO, Soliloquy Inc.,
The moderator is Ari Brose Orr '84, Principal Consultant, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and Chair, Careers Committee, Associate Alumnae of Barnard College.

Barnard has a long history of groups of alumnae affiliated by profession, including Women in Medicine, Women in Law, and Women in Finance. This event launches the newest such group, Women on the Web.
