Environmental Science Lab Restores Riverside Park 10.26.09 During the week of October 5, 126 students from the labs of Peter Bower's "Introduction to Environmental Science" course volunteered at Riverside Park for the Environmental Science department's annual civic engagement activity. Lab directors Diane Dittrick and Terryanne Maenza-Gmelch led the restoration effort in which hundreds of invasive plant species were removed and more than 2,000 native plants were planted in the park along the wall near 109th Street.
