BARNARD'S
"FAR TOO CANADIAN" RADIO SHOW AMONG
BEST IN NEW YORK CITY, ACCORDING TO VILLAGE
VOICE
New
York, NY, December 6, 2001 WBAR, Barnards
own student-run radio station has been cranking
out music for the last thirteen years. A part
of this unique programming, Veronica Lius
weekly FAR TOO CANADIAN radio show, has recently
been named one of the best in the city by the
Village Voice.
FAR TOO CANADIAN is a weekly show that celebrates
Canadian music, playing everything from the
quintessentially Canadian Tragically Hip to
obscurities like the Inbreds. Liu even throws
in artists who are assumed to be American such
as Neil Young and Skinny Puppy. Between songs,
Liu fills the show with stories from Canada.
Though her accent "isnt strong enough
to warrant South Park-style ridicule, her between-song
fun facts and tales from the Great White North
are just as entertaining," the Voice
says.
Lius show can be heard on WBAR 87.9FM
on Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m. Check
www.wbar.org for scheduling updates.
