HELP
FOR THE HOLIDAYS -- CANNED FOOD AND TOY COLLECTION
THROUGH DEC. 21
December
11, 2001 -- During this traditional holiday
season of sharing, the Barnard Community will
collect toys and canned goods to be distributed
to soup kitchens, food pantries and family shelters
throughout the city. The food will be distributed
by City Harvest, and the toys will be given
to children of the families who were affected
by the tragedy of Flight 587. Lets all
open our hearts and
contribute as much as we can to make this drive
one of the most successful.
The canned goods collected by the Barnard Community
Program, HELP FOR THE
HOLIDAYS will be distributed to some 150 outlets
by City Harvest. Last year Barnard contributed
1,500 pounds of canned food toward the total
of 500,000 pounds City Harvest delivered throughout
the city. Since the events of September 11th,
calls to City Harvest for more food has increased
ten-fold.
Contributions may be dropped off in the HUMAN
RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, ROOM 6, GROUND FLOOR,
MILBANK HALL. We will be collecting canned goods
and toys until Friday, December 21, 2001.
If you have questions please call Barbara Stover
or Robin Fennell at extensions 42551 or 42184.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
