SUPPORTING THE NEXUS

In June 2007 we broke ground for the Nexus, the multi-use building that will be Barnard’s beautiful new center for intellectual, cultural, and social life.

With this project, Barnard has embarked on one of the largest, most important, and most ambitious projects in the College’s history. The financial support of alumnae and friends of the College is central to the success of this vital endeavor.

This is your opportunity to contribute to the creation of an innovative building designed to meet the needs of this first-rate academic institution in the 21st century. With your help, the Nexus promises to make Barnard an even stronger magnet for wide-ranging intellectual, artistic, and social pursuits in the years ahead.

Every Nexus donation increases in value under a new matching grant. This wonderful program has been created and funded by Barnard trustee Diana T. Vagelos ’55 and her husband, Dr. P. Roy Vagelos. You can honor the inspirational commitment of these visionary benefactors – and maximize the effect of your own philanthropy – by making a gift under the Vagelos Challenge.

Nexus donors will be honored on a curving donor wall in the lobby of the building; classrooms, meeting rooms, special-function rooms, and individual items like study carrels and computer workstations will carry plaques identifying the generosity of our contributors.
