STUDENT SPACES
DURING CONSTRUCTION
Jan R. Lewis and Marley Blue Lewis '05 Parlor (formerly known as the Brooks Living Room)
The Nexus will have ample space for student activities, student organizations and special events, as well as large, comfortable areas for socializing, snacking, reading and relaxing.
During construction, the provisional use of campus space will include the following moves and adjustments:
• The College Activities Office will be on the first floor of Brooks Hall.
• The Multicultural Affairs Office will be on the first floor of Reid Hall.
• Barnard Bulletin, SGA, McAc, Skip Stop/Commuter Lounge are on the second floor of Brooks Hall.
Casual Gathering Spots and Lounges
• Java City, with an expanded menu, will be located in Altschul Atrium.
• Brooks Living Room, to be named the Jan R. Lewis and Marley Blue '05 Lewis Parlor, and which has been restored to its original level of armchair comfort and architectural beauty.
• Sulzberger lounge and other residence hall lounges remain available 24 hours a day. These include:
• Floors 2-8 of Sulzberger, a study lounge and a separate social lounge with TV on
• 600 West 116th Street, 2nd floor lounge with large-screen TV• 616 West 116th Street, 1st floor lounge with large-screen TV
• Elliott Hall: Elliott Parlor, on the 1st floor, with a large-screen TV; there also is an outdoor patio area is adjacent to Elliott Parlor.
• Plimpton Hall: 1st floor study lounge, and separate 1st floor social lounge with large-screen TV; also two outdoor patio areas, one adjacent to the study lounge, and the other adjacent to the social lounge
• Cathedral Gardens, 10th floor social lounge with large-screen TV, for the use of Cathedral Gardens residents only
Dining
• Hewitt Dining Hall will be open for extended hours, allowing students to come and go more freely.
• Java City, with an expanded menu, will be in Altschul Atrium.
Spaces for Special Events
All suitable spaces will continue to be available for reserved use. Available spaces include:
• The James Room, Barnard Hall (now air-conditioned!)
• Sulzberger Parlor, Barnard Hall
• North and South Towers, Sulzberger Hall
• All classrooms (outside class hours)
• The Quad Lawn

(classroom spaces that can be reserved and used when no classes are in session; contact spaceres@barnard.edu for reservations)

• 325 Milbank
Residence Halls
• Sulzberger Tower basement (three music rooms); for reservations, contact Residential Life at the beginning of the semester, housing@barnard.edu
• Plimpton Lounge
• 616 West 116th Street Lounge
