Milbank Hall—Steam Interruption Tuesday Evening, 5:30 PM to 12 Midnight
We regret that because of scheduling demands related to the Nexus construction we will experience an interruption in steam service in Milbank Hall on Tuesday evening.
Milbank classes meeting from 6pm – 9pm will experience a gradual reduction of heat, and classes running until 10pm will be outfitted with temporary space heaters. The animal labs will also be provided with space heaters.
Please help us contain residual heat: close building windows, do not prop doors open and carry a sweater if you plan to be in Milbank after 5pm on Tuesday.

LINK Excavation

- All ID holders are encouraged to use the 120th Street Milbank door or the 40 Claremont door for access.
- Best route to Broadway is via the campus perimeter.
- LINK deliveries will be re-directed to the Receiving at 46-76 Claremont Avenue.

Mail Services Moves 08/07–08
- Mail Services moves from Milbank to the first floor of Altschul.
- During these two days, there will be no pickup or delivery of regular mail.
- Express items will be delivered by Central Receiving staff.
- We hope to resume service on August 9. Check eBear announcements for any changes to this schedule. Please do not call Mail Services until we have formally reopened.
- Reminder: there will be no faculty or staff mailboxes in the Altschul location. Mail will be delivered to all departments, including those that currently have mailboxes attached to the Milbank Mail Services.

- Gas service interruptions to Altschul Hall July 23 and 26, 7 am to 5 pm. This will result in the temporary cessation of service to the gas turrets in all science and research labs. Portable propane gas tanks have been distributed to Environmental Science, Chemistry and Biology departmental offices and are available to faculty for use during these intervals.

- Rock trenching along the south foundation wall (expect noise at Altschul basement)
- Work at 119th Street continues with the coring of foundation walls at Milbank & McIntosh for pipe relocations - expect grinding noise

Link Closed for New Construction
The LINK between Lehman and Altschul closes 7/24! Northbound traffic may exit the LINK at the 40 Claremont Avenue door and re-enter campus at 119th Street. The Altschul elevator connections will remain open! Southbound LINK traffic may use the elevators for access to the plaza level and 117th Street.

- Saturday, June 30, construction of a sidewalk bridge along the north and east facades of Sulzberger Hall. Work begins at 8 am and will be completed by the end of the day.

- The basement link between Lehman, Altschul and Milbank re-opens
Friday 06/22 — No Electricity in Altschul Hall; No Network Services, 7 am to 8:45 am
- 7 am to 8:45 am — power will be turned off in Altschul Hall
- Appropriate steps should be taken to ensure that all lab, computer and other sensitive equipment is turned off on Thursday night. Power is expected to be restored at 8:30 am and all equipment may be reenergized at that time.
- Campus-wide: ALL computer network services will be unavailable while Altschul electrical supply is off.
This includes internet access, eBear, email, webmail, file storage (Athena/Artemis), and all applications such as Datatel, Financial Aid, EMS and Health Services.
06/11/07
Preparations for McIntosh demolition
- Gate at 119th Street and Broadway will remain closed; demolition and excavation work continue in this area; expect noise and some dust.
- Assembly of scaffolding around McIntosh exterior will begin.

- Gate at Claremont Avenue at 119th Street will remain open for access to Milbank Hall and main campus.
- Aztec Restoration begins cleaning and refinishing the main entrance doors to Milbank Hall; work performed Monday thru Friday, from 6 pm to 1 am.
- 8 am, June 14 – High pressure gas service to Altschul Hall Mechanical Room will be turned off. This will result in the turning off of air conditioning to Altschul, Milbank, Lehman and parts of Barnard Hall on 6/14 until approximately 5 pm.

Altschul Hall water/air shut-off
Tuesday 5/22/07 from 6 am - 10 am water to Altschul Hall will be shut down.This will affect all labs and offices on the Claremont (West) side of the Building.
Wednesday 5/23/07 from 6 am - 10 am, there will be a shut down of vacuum and air service to the entire building.

Quad lounge renovation
The preparations for the Nexus construction project continue with the start of renovations in the Quad Lounge.
On Tuesday 4/24/07, a contractor began demolition and active renovation of the interior space of the Quad Lounge.
When completed, this space will house a new temporary Admissions Visitor's Center.

Exterior facade repair
The Exterior Facade Repair Project in Sulzberger Hall is entering the demolition phase.
Work is proceeding on floors 2 – 8 of the Sulzberger South and floors 9- 16 of Sulzberger West on April 2, 2007
616 W. 116th - crews will be working on the removal of bricks from under window openings that face the center and east courtyards.
620 W. 116th , crews will continue working on the south wall that faces the courtyard.
This work is necessary and important and we do deeply appreciate your patience and understanding.

McIntosh restroom reopened
The McIntosh tunnel-level women's bathroom has been reopened.
The space outside the bathroom still has an "under construction appearance" but it
is safe for the community enter this area to access the Women's Restroom.
Please continue to use Claremont Avenue between Milbank and Lehman Halls.
