A DAY IN THE LIFE...

General Schedule of a
Pre-College Program Student
(subject to change)

 

FOUR-WEEK SESSION

Monday - Friday (Except Wednesday):

9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Morning Classes
12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Lunch and Afternoon Break
— Eat, relax, or catch up on homework.
2 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Afternoon Classes

Classes end at 4:30 p.m. and students then have the opportunity to take part in optional on and off-campus activities including Broadway shows, baseball games, dance classes, and so much more!

Wednesday:

On Wednesdays, 4-week students participate in the Life after College program. Times vary but excursions usually take place during normal business hours.

Examples of some Life after College programs include visits to businesses and corporations such as Elle Girl, Kenneth Cole, MTV Studios and the WNBA to name a few. There have also been visits to hospitals, a homeless shelter, and a court.

Apart from the excursions, Wednesdays are free to relax, catch up on homework, and/or participate in the optional planned activities.

Saturday and Sunday:

On the weekends, students are free to participate in organized activities and/or excursions, explore the city on their own, sleep in late, or catch up on homework.

YOUNG WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

Sunday

Registration and move-in

Monday - Thursday

9 - 9:30 a.m. Community Building Activity
9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Introduction to Women's Studies Class
12 - 1 p.m. Lunch
1 - 3 p.m. Workshops
3 - 3:30 p.m. Afternoon Break
3:30 p.m. Suggested Leadership Lab Meeting Time

Mandatory activity ends at 3:30 p.m. It is suggested that students meet with their Leadership Lab group and then afterwards take part in the optional on and off-campus activities including Broadway shows, baseball games, dance classes, and so much more!

Friday

9 - 10 a.m. Student-led Conference Preparation
10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Student-led Conference
12 p.m. Closing Banquet
