BARNARD-TAUGHT FALL 2008 LIMITED ENROLLMENT COURSES

BARNARD COLLEGE

OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR

FALL 2008

LIMITED ENROLLMENT COURSES REQUIRING ACTION

BEFORE MONDAY, APRIL 28, 2008

This is a listing of Barnard courses requiring special enrollment procedures (e.g., seminars, labs, studio courses). Students must sign up or secure the instructor’s permission as indicated.

Note regarding "L" courses: If you wish to sign up for Columbia (and some Barnard) limited enrollment courses (excluding Contemporary Civilization, Art Humanities, Literature Humanities, Music Humanities, and Physical Education, for which no advance sign-up is possible), please consult the online Directory of Classes at: www.columbia.edu/cu/bulletin/uwb ("L" courses have a "maximum enrollment" listed for the section). "L" course signup will be on eBear, Monday through Friday, April 14-18, in order of class standing: current seniors and juniors on Monday, current sophomores on Tuesday, current first-years on Wednesday, everyone on Thursday and Friday. Instructions for online "L" signup will be sent to all students; appointment times will be displayed in the program area of eBear. (You will be able to drop and enroll in "L" courses in September through the same procedure.) Columbia courses not marked "L" do not require special procedures (unless they require instructor permission or an application).

Please consult course descriptions in the Barnard and Columbia catalogues. Also, syllabi for many Barnard courses taught during the past couple of years are available for review in the Office of the Dean of Studies, 105 Milbank Hall, and many instructors post syllabi online.
