ABOUT THE WEBSITE

The main purpose of this website is to present a discussion of the Research Sites that students in the course have visited and thought about. Each of the sites is presented in the following way:

• through a direct link to the homepage of the organization or community itself, if such a website exists;

• through one or more student papers about the "site";

• and through a response from members of the community itself, should they wish to do so.

We did not assume that every group would want to frame a response for posting on this website, and it was not a necessary feature of the compact that students formed with the groups they studied. In each case, however, it was a possibility, and we are grateful to those who have summoned the time and energy to submit a response for posting here. In many instances, students have received feedback from site representatives directly and informally. We are very grateful for that, too.
