Founded in 1997, this seminar explores the role of religion in American society from cross-disciplinary perspectives, including history, anthropology, literature, sociology, theology, and material culture.  We also mean to define both religion and America broadly: religion will take into account multiple expressions in an increasingly pluralistic setting; America includes not merely the United States, but Canada and the Caribbean as well.  The members of the seminar are also particularly interested in examining the religiously rich environment of New York City.

The Seminar generally meets on the last Monday of the month, beginning with dinner at 6 pm in the Faculty House, and then adjourning to one of the meeting rooms at 7 pm.
