Elliott Hall was dedicated in honor of the service of Eleanor Thomas Elliott '48 to Barnard. The Office of Career Development is located on the 2nd floor and the Office of Management Information and Network Services is located on the lower level.
Location 49 Claremont Avenue (at the corner of 119th Street). Population 96 upperclass students, mostly Sophomores & Juniors. The 3rd and 5th floors are typically reserved for transfer students. Room Layout 6-story building. Singles and double rooms in 12-person suites, 2 per floor (floor plans). Furniture Bed, desk, chair, and built-in dresser and closet space. The rooms are carpeted. Security 24-hour desk attendant at the front desk. Internet All rooms have ethernet jacks for wired internet access. Wireless internet is also available. Cable Students may arrange cable TV service with Time Warner Cable for a fee. Telephone One telephone per room, equipped with one voicemail box. Bathrooms Shared bathroom facilities. Kitchens Shared kitchen with oven, microwave, sink, and cabinets in each suite.
While the kitchen does not have a community refrigerator, students may bring or rent (from Cecil Distributors) a refrigerator for their room (there is a refrigerator alcove, 21" W x 26" H x 23" D, & outlet for small cube refrigerators in each room).Laundry Located in the basement. Accessibility The entrance is wheelchair accessible and the elevator stops on all floors, including the basement. Common Areas There is a lounge on each floor shared between the 2 suites. There is TV lounge with piano and a patio on the 1st floor. Staff Associate Director, Graduate Hall Director and 4 RAs. Note: Smoking is not permitted in any Barnard residence hall (Smoking Policy).
