Plimpton Hall
Location 1235 Amsterdam Avenue (at corner of 121st Street), 2 blocks from Milbank Hall. Population 280 upperclass students, mostly Sophomores & Juniors. The building also houses some male and female Columbia University students. Room Layout 15-story building. Singles rooms in 5-person suites. (floor plans) Furniture Bed, desk, chair, dresser, and wardrobe/closet space. Security 24-hour desk attendant at the front desk. Internet All rooms have ethernet jacks for wired internet access. Wireless internet access is also available. Cable Students may arrange cable TV service with Time Warner Cable for a fee. Telephone One telephone per room, equipped with one voicemail box. Bathrooms Each suite has its own bathroom. Kitchens There is a kitchen in each suite, with a sink, gas stove/oven, and refrigerator. Laundry Located in the basement.. Accessibility Wheelchair access is on the street level through a locked door, left of main entrance (call the desk attendant for access). Both elevators stop on all floors including the basement. Common Areas TV lounge, Formal / piano lounge, computer lab, and patio terraces on the 1st floor. Staff Associate Director, Graduate Hall Director and 5 RAs. Note: Smoking is not permitted in any Barnard residence hall (Smoking Policy).
