Changing Your Password
Be sure to read the Good Passwords page before choosing a password.
To change your password in Ebear:
- Click on the 'Email' tab at the top of the screen.
- Click 'Email Utilities', then choose 'Change Email Password' on the lefthand side.
- Enter your new password into both fields, then click the Submit button.
It can take up to an hour for your new password to be active.
To change the password using SSH:
- Login to your eclipse account on the telnet page.
- At the $ prompt, type passwd and press enter.
It will look like so:
$ passwd
passwd: Changing password for (your username)
Enter login password:
- Type your current password, and press enter. You will
be prompted to enter a new password, type this in and press
enter. This new password needs to be different from your
old password in at least three positions/characters. You
will be prompted to confirm your new password which is effective
after your confirmation.
