Once you set up your eBear account, be sure to change your password to a secure, but easy-for-you-to-remember password. We also suggest changing it every 6-12 months.
If you have forgotten your password, or for some other reason are locked out of your eBear/Webmail account, please contact us and we will reset your password for you. This process can only be done during M-F 9-5 and you will have to speak with our administrator.
Many students choose to forward their Barnard email to their Columbia email accounts or to their Gmail email accounts. On Gmail, you can set up an alias to look like you are sending from the Barnard account.
You have 350MB on your Barnard server space. One of the most common issues Barnard students--especially those with many extracurricular activities and other email correspondence--face is going over quota. When you go over quota, you will get a warning message first, and then emails will start bouncing back to the sender. Follow these instructions to rectify and/or avoid the situation!
Many annoying, strange, or offensive email messages arrive at Barnard everyday. One component of Barnard's safe computing policy is Anti-Virus scanning for all incoming and outgoing e-mail messages, using Clam AntiVirus software. The software successfully scans e-mail attachments, detects viruses, and removes the infected attachment from the e-mail message. However, you can choose to increase your spam protection.
