The Computer Help Desk unit of Academic Technologies has openings for Barnard students to work as Help Desk Technicians.
Qualifications
- Has a basic familiarity with computers and a willingness to learn during training.
- able to commit to 5+ hours per week.
- willingness and desire to learn new computer skills.
- Works well independently and in group situations.
- Has good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Is timely, responsible, dedicated and shows initiative.
Job Descriptions
Under the direction of the Associate Director for Technical
Support Services and 4 full-time staff Technical Specialists,
these positions provide hardware and software computing support
over the phone and in person to Barnard faculty and staff. The
Barnard Computer Help Desk is staffed bys students Monday-Friday 9am-6pm.

- Extensive computer Mac and PC training each semester as well as on the job training.
Job Requirements
- Training twice an academic year, a week prior to the beginning of each semester.
- 5 hours+ a week working in the lab.
