How to Register for Women's Studies Courses
If you are a Barnard or Columbia student:
Unless otherwise noted, Barnard or Columbia students do not need to sign
up for Women's Studies seminars despite the warning in the pencil book
or catalog that the instructor's permission is needed. For all Women's
Studies classes, attend the first class. If the course is over-enrolled,
it is at the instructor's discretion if s/he wants to limit the
enrollment and how. Seminar instructors usually keep their class size at
an average of 20 students and often give priority to Women's Studies
majors.
Students are encouraged to
email the department administrator and express their interest in the
course, unless the instructor prefers to be contacted directly by the
students.
